I was very sorry to read yesterday that Penny passed away.

In his letter to the campus community, CSUB President Mitchell asked to send pictures of Penny to you. I had the pleasure to attend two workshops at the Googleplex with Penny. She loved interacting with the "Googlers" and did a wonderful job with the small grant we received from them. Attached is a picture from last year's workshop. Others are myself (right), Randy Schultz, and one of Penny's students.
